BARD is a Glasgow-based architecture studio with its origins in Scotland’s Hebridean Islands. We believe architecture should carry a poetic quality and a depth of meaning in its purpose. Our work balances contemporary challenges with traditional artistry - creating thoughtful, soulful and enduring architecture rooted in place, material and storytelling. From our rooftop studio overlooking the River Clyde, we work locally and nationally across conservation, community and residential projects, as well as adaptive reuse and cultural commissions. Established nearly ten years ago, BARD has developed a reputation for design quality and meaningful outcomes, particularly in community projects that connect people, heritage and place. We nurture a creative, inclusive environment that values participation, initiative and shared ideas. Architecture for us is a social, cultural and political act — grounded in curiosity, collaboration and respect for craft and context.
