Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability is a council service, which is an amalgamation of Parks, Cleansing, Roads, Parking, Community Safety Glasgow and Development and Regeneration Services which deliver services to the citizens of Glasgow. It has responsibility for maintaining parks, open spaces, roads and lighting as well as ensuring a clean environment within the city. It is also responsible for Transport, Fleet Maintenance and Planning/Building control.
The successful applicant will be based at Gartcraig Depot and will be working across the city. This will involve assisting Blacksmiths an the day to day maintenance of Roads operation assets and may involve fabrication and installation of steel structures, fencing and play equipment. Additional plant, machinery and equipment training provided in-house and externally will be provided as required.
Traffic Management, Working at Height, design and installation of complex equipment including mechanical cutting and folding, welding, grinding and polishing, drilling, reading and understanding drawings. You may also be required to gather data and carry out inspections and surveys which will involve working on site to identify underground and overhead services prior to excavation and installation. Inspection and quality control, Health and Safety procedures and an understanding of material properties.
Experience is not necessary as all training will be provided on site and in college. However a determination to work hard and learn as part of a team is a requirement.

4 x National 5 in English/Maths (grade C+) and technical subjects.
