This is a great opportunity for someone to learn all the necessary skills to assist in the fabrication of a host of different metal products using a range of different materials and processes. This is a Modern Apprenticeship position following the Apprenticeship Framework; attending college as required whilst we support you working towards completing a SVQ Level 6 Fabrication and Welding Engineering course. When you are not at College, you’ll be working to develop your practical skills in our workshop.
You will be assisting the team:
• Laser cutting
• Mechanical cutting and folding
• Welding
• Grinding and polishing
• Drilling
• Reading and understanding drawings
• Learning the different properties of a range of different metals
• Working as part of a team
• Inspection and quality control procedures
• Health & Safety procedures

Stewart Precision Metals Limited is a metal fabrication business based in Dalmarnock. We offer laser cutting, folding, welding and design services to a large range of customers across Scotland. Using state of the art Amada laser cutting and folding machinery to produce products in a wide range of different metals to a maximum thickness of 20mm. We fabricate everything from simple brackets to complex bar / restaurant kitchen fit outs and mobile catering units. Experience is not necessary as all training will be provided on site and at College, but a determination to work hard and learn from working as part of a team is a basic requirement.
