Job Description

Assistant floor layer - full training given.

Key Responsibilities

Assistant floor layer - full training given. The job would include labouring, and assisting floor layers with physical work. Carrying equipment, screed and floor materials. Floor laying will be taught on site with on the job training. Work will include preparing and using different screeds, laying and cutting in of floor materials (carpet tile, carpet, vinyl and vinyl tile). Installing cove former, barrier mats and threshold bars. Tools and H&S equipment will be provided.

Experience and Knowledge

Building site experience an advantage. General labouring skills an advantage. No knowledge of floor laying required.

Key Skills

Assistant floor layer - full training given. Candidate must be able to carry building materials, follow instruction and learn on the job. Tools and H&S equipment will be provided.

Education, Qualifications and Training

Basic arithmetic and literacy skills an advantage (ie must be able to read product code to ensure correct materials are being moved). CSCS card an advantage and online test must be passed within 6 months of start date).
