Are you looking at beginning a career in I.T and Digital Communications? We are recruiting for a Modern Apprentice to specialise in Digital Application Support, working in our Communication and Strategic Partnerships team. This vacancy represents an incredible opportunity for someone to work in a very important and high profile area of Glasgow City Council.
The successful candidate would work day-to-day in the team while working towards achieving a Diploma in Digital Application Support at SCQF Level 6.
We expect all our employees to provide the highest standards of customer service and communication, as an integral part of the role will be working closely with colleagues from other areas of the council.
The successful candidate will carry out a range of duties, specialising in areas such as;
• developing personal and team effectiveness using I.T
• health and safety in I.T and telecoms
• understanding the potential of I.T
• digital information management
• digital communications
An excellent knowledge of Microsoft systems is essential to this role, as is an active interest in I.T.
As a Modern Apprentice, as well as working in your day-to-day role, you will be studying towards Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework (SCQF) Level 6 Diploma. During your apprenticeship you will work towards your qualification, whilst being able to apply your learning to the real life business environment. In turn, you will receive first class training, excellent conditions and experience of working in one of Glasgow’s leading employers.
You will be expected to demonstrate that you can troubleshoot and solve problems using a range of different application software packages.

A good general education including Nat 4 Maths and English as a minimum. You should also be able to demonstrate excellent computer skills, an interest in I.T and a knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
