To provide a high quality, professional reception and administrative service to patients, doctors, staff, colleagues, health service professionals and others. To act as the first point of contact for patients contacting the Practice and to portray the Practice in the highest possible professional basis.
• Work confidently and communicate well with the public – booking of appointments, handling enquiries, signposting to alternative services within non medical remit answer and make telephone calls as directed by the workflow
• Computer literacy -Use of various computer packages – EMIS, Docman, word, excel, PowerPoint, general typing, and those relating to a medical practice
• Be able to compile clear concise written letter/reports
• Records filing, scanning, preparation of records requests and reports preparation
• Flexibility – the ability to cover sick leave/annual leave of other staff, if at all possible and/or as deemed necessary
• The ability to work under pressure and multi task
• Work well as a member of the practice team and add to making the Practice a great place to work
• Communicate clearly and concisely in all interactions
• Personal traits – Team player, motivated, enthusiastic, customer service focused, tact and diplomacy, honesty, trustworthiness, reliability.
• Handle mail in and out of the practice
• Liaise with secondary care
• Action requests from GPs
• Handle requests from patients for prescriptions both repeat and acute

We are Dr Fraser & Partners based at Govanhill Health Centre. We are a medical practice providing healthcare to a diverse patient population and provide training to under and post graduate medical students. There are 14 of us, most of whom have been here for more than 3 years. We pride ourselves on creating a great working environment for all - so much so that many students elect to return to complete their GP training!
