The Digital Marketing Apprentice will support the Marketing Manager in the creation of social media posts, Pinterest boards, email newsletter and blog content, market and competitor research, link building, pay per click (PPC) advertising and much more.
The roles and responsibilties will grow as the candidate improves their skills and grows in confidence, however tasks may include:
- Social media posts
- Email newsletter creation
- Blog posts
- Link building outreach
- Stock categorisation
- Market research
- Competitor research
- Direct marketing list generation
- Lead chasing

The candidate must be organised and have the ability and desire to learn new skills under limited supervision. They should have a hunger to learn and develop. Excellent written English is a key attribute for any aspiring marketer. Communication skills will be vital in the role as reporting to colleagues in a concise and clear fashion on a daily basis. Time keeping skills and attendance are important as repeated absences will no be tolerated.
Love-Rugs is a leading rug retailer based in Glasgow, just south of the city centre.
Online sales have increased during Covid with the business looking to accelerate growth in the next three years, focusing on online sales and marketing. In the past few years Love-Rugs has grown from a team of just 2 and now employs 6-7 employees in an ever expanding team.
The company mainly operates online from their website: www.love-rugs.com and also has a sister brand www.little-persia.com with a focus on luxury high-end handmade rugs.
As a small business the opportunities for staff are endless as the company grows and develops, a role and responsibilities can expand with staff ability and competencies meaning there is always new tasks and ideas to implement.
The ideal candidate will have a Higher in English and Business Studies. English at National 5 level or higher is required.
No prior experience is required although the ability and experience of working in a team is desirable. A level of comfort using computers and different computer applications is expected and a candidate that is active on social media would be desirable.
There is a (very friendly) dog that is part of the team - so those with a fear or dogs or allergies should be aware.
