To assist with the maintenance and operation of clerical and administrative systems within GCA, in particular the computerised record system, in order to support the delivery of services effectively and efficiently.
i. To maintain the database by collating, checking and entering data provided by the counselling staff.
ii. To respond to requests for information by interrogating the database and producing reports as requested.
iii. To answer telephone calls, take accurate messages and pass them to the appropriate person.
iv. To welcome personal callers to the office, provide them with tea / coffee as required and notify the relevant member of staff of their arrival.
v. To deal with all callers to the office, whether on the phone or in person, and with staff and volunteers, in a sensitive, courteous and appropriate manner.
vi. To provide clerical and administrative support to GCA, including competent use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access, general filing and operation of office systems.
vii. To help maintain the office in a clean, tidy and well ordered state.

Glasgow Council on Alcohol (GCA) is a third sector volunteer led organisation which works with individuals, families and communities to promote health and wellbeing. We offer direct support for people to abstain from alcohol or reduce their alcohol consumption. We provide training, education and work with other agencies and communities to achieve our main aim of reducing harm caused by alcohol
Qualification in Office Administration / IT desirable not essential
Experience of Office administration in small/medium sized organisation, Data processing, Volunteering/working in the voluntary sector, Dealing with the public.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word.
None
