Job Description and Key Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities The Estate Supervisor will ensure delivery of estate service contracts, liaising and providing day to day support to management, team leaders and housing on a daily basis and update them on any issues arising. You are responsible to ensure the team leaders and teams meet targets. Assisting them in their duties carrying out works in all areas and regular check-ups ensuring the teams are carrying out there duties to specification. You must ensure that all areas are kept to a high standard, and that timescales are met. You shall provide a support/mentoring role to our vulnerable and less experienced workers and provide training and information to develop their skills. You will ensure all equipment is fit for purpose; any defects damaged to be reported immediately before works commence. Ensure stock levels are maintained and kept in good working condition. You will support management in decision making and have regular communication with your manager in the progress of works. You will be first point of contact to all staff /housing officers and oversee operations in the manager’s absence. You will be required to assist in disciplinary procedures and attend evening meetings as and when required.

Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES The Estate Supervisor will supervise the day-to-day operations and provide support in the delivery of all estate-based service contracts. Provide accurate and timely information on progress and advice that is easily understood by the customer and ensure accurate daily work records are completed. Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and continue to be suitable for required tasks whilst ensure stock levels are maintained. Use equipment and materials in a safe manner and in accordance with risk assessment and method statements and the manufacturer’s guidance. Carry out all hazardous tasks such as spraying in accordance with supplier guidelines and in a safe manner, ensuring relevant records are maintained to comply with health and safety and legal requirements. Delivers a helpful and friendly service to customers. Provides useful information and monitors customer satisfaction. Complete timesheets, absence notifications, return to work forms, daily rotas, evacuation test procedures. This is not an exhaustive list and other duties requiring similar skill levels may be required. PERSON SPECIFICATION Competencies Experience of estate works is essential; this includes having substantial experience of grounds maintenance and cleaning works. Ability to carry out basic IT skills, to ensure the appropriate information is provided electronically and is recorded properly. Extensive experience of leading and supervising teams. The Estates Supervisor will be highly organised and will work quickly and efficiently with limited supervision and have a “hands on” approach to their work. They must be willing and able to carry out estate-based works as and when required. The Estates Supervisor will be a confident communicator (both written and verbal), able to demonstrate initiative and has a pro-active approach to their work and able to maintain confidentiality. Prioritise and allocate work accordingly, both on their own and within the teams and is willing to undertake role specific training as required. Accepts that people may have different opinions about issues to your own and listens to these with an open mind. Is willing to change their own view based on new information. Communicating and Influencing Demonstrates appropriate two-way communication, listening and asking questions to check understanding of self and others; uses clear plain English, whether verbally or in writing to convey messages and/or technical information.
