CLOSE CLEANER Reports to: Close Team Leader Duties and Responsibilities Job Purpose: The purpose of the role is to keep our housing stock well maintained by carrying out close cleaning to a high standard. This will involve but not exclusive to close brushing, spraying & moping, brushing and moping rails, cleaning windows & window sills, washing woodwork & cleaning of walls. Working as part of a team to carry out close cleaning, you will be responsible for various cleaning duties to ensure the cleanliness of our housing stock. Complying with all proper safety policies and procedures when using cleaning chemicals. Making sure that COSHH regulations are adhered to on the use of chemicals, protective clothing and equipment. You may be required to assist in other departments, should this arise full training will be given. Skill levels required for post • Cleaning of Closes / New build properties & offices & by cleaning, hoovering, dusting and polishing. • Ensuring the close, stairs and windows are cleaned to a high standard. • Responsible for wiping, mopping, sweeping, brushing & vacuuming. • Making sure all defects are reported to the housing officers and manager. • Cleaning and dusting of all interior surfaces, fixtures and fittings. • Maintaining a safe and secure working environment. • Ensure H&S requirements are met. • Window cleaning General/Other • Carry out role specific risk assessments • Carry out close cleaning. Scope: • Working in all weathers completing physically demanding work. • Use of hazardous substances e.g. chemicals • Use equipment and materials in a safe manner and in accordance with risk assessment and method statements. Employee: The successful candidate will provide day to day support in the delivery of estate service contracts, specifically undertaking close cleaning, office cleaning (if required). This will require use of chemicals and other hazardous substances. They will be required to be courteous and polite to customers and staff at all times. The successful candidate will comply with organisational policies and procedures found in the company handbook in the provision of their services. They will be responsible of their own safety and that of other people, co-operate with the organisation in matters relating to health and safety and not interfere with or misuse anything provided for their health and safety. They will be required to operate within the appropriate health and safety regulations ensuring the working environment, property and occupants are safe and secure at all times. They will also be responsible for reporting anything that may pose a risk to the health and safety to themselves or others. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Provide accurate and timely information on progress and advice that is easily understood by the customer and ensure accurate daily work records are completed. Respond positively to complaints to meet customer expectations. Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and continue to be suitable for required tasks whilst ensuring stock levels are maintained. Use equipment and materials in a safe manner and in accordance with risk assessment and method statements and the manufacturer’s guidance. Carry out all hazardous tasks in accordance with supplier guidelines and in a safe manner, ensuring relevant records are maintained to comply with health and safety and legal requirements. Delivering a helpful and friendly service to customers. Provides useful information to tenants if asked. The successful candidate will need to be physically fit as close cleaning is physically demanding. Accepts people may have different opinions about issues to your own and listens to these with an open mind. Is willing to change own view based on new information.
