Working outdoors maintaining Glasgow’s street lighting. You will be based at Gartcraig Roads Depot where you will learn to plan work, do repairs, checks and general maintenance. Your Modern Apprenticeship consists of a 4 year programme attending a further education College, where you will complete your electrician qualification.

Driving: While a full licence is not essential in year one, it is necessary to obtain a licence in order to complete the training.
Technical: You will need to be able to read and understand technical drawings and diagnose faults.
Good communication skills and pleasant manner when dealing with members of the public and fellow workers is required.

Minimum of four National 5 grades in English, Maths and Science subjects.
Studying technical subjects from school or college will assist with proving ability to grasp the tasks.
Age Restriction* - Due to legalities of training requirements, applicants MUST be 18 years old before/on Monday 16th August 2020
You will be required to take a colour vision test
Please note a 3 days on 4 days off and 4 days on 3 days off shift pattern applies.
