Working in an office based environment and outdoors surveying and monitoring Glasgow’s street lighting assets. You will be based at 727 London Road Office where you will learn to monitor, maintain and provide technical advice to maintain street lighting.
Your Modern Apprenticeship consists of a 4 year programme attending a further education college where you will complete your electrician qualification.
Report to Lighting Manager
Respond to councillor requests
Visit sites and compile reports
Input data onto ICT systems
Assist with design of new lighting systems
Driving: While a full licence is not essential in year one, it is necessary to obtain a licence in order to complete the training.
Technical: You will need to be able to read and understand technical drawings and diagnose faults.
Good communication skills and manner when dealing with members of the public and fellow workers.
