Job Description

All Apprentices will work towards gaining a Business Admin SVQ at either level 2 or 3 with daily tasks providing the evidence required. Some examples are:

• Logging mail
• Reception duties
• Learning about the systems we use
• Creating and mail merging letters
• Answering phones
• Booking meeting rooms
• Gathering information
• Creating and updating spread sheets

Each Apprentice will have an Assessor and a Supervisor who will help them both with their SVQ and also daily tasks. The central MA team is always there to provide support if needed.

We have lots of training days throughout the year when Apprentices come together. There are also opportunities to see other parts of the business and to learn what jobs may be available going forward. Some of our former Apprentices are now Customer Service Advisors, Enforcement Officers, Health and Wellbeing Assistants, Community Assistants and Housing Officers.

Key Skills

When we are recruiting our Apprentices we are much more interested in what you CAN DO rather than what you can’t do. No work experience is required, but we would like you to have:

Experience of working in team – could be inside or outside school
Experience of working on your own
Understand what is good customer service and how to give it
Knowledge of Wheatley Group and its subsidiaries
Also, we need you to be;
Enthusiastic and keen to learn
Hard working and do the best you can
On time and come to work every day
A team player
Keen to complete your qualification

Any Additional Requirements

Our programme lasts for 2 years and our starting dates this year will be end August/beginning September. The qualification you will complete is Business Admin Level 2 or 3.
If we shortlist your application, you will be invited to attend and information session where you can learn more about us and the programme, if you are still interested and are shortlisted, you will be invited to attend an assessment centre which will include an interview.
