We have an exciting opportunity for a new Welfare Benefits Trainee to join our team here at Wheatley Group. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about making a difference to people’s lives.
Our Welfare Benefits Trainees will support our Welfare Benefits Officers in providing and efficient and effective welfare benefits advice service to our customers. You will ensure customers understand their entitlement to welfare services and other internal and external wrap around support services that support our customers.
What you will be doing:
• Working alongside experienced Welfare Benefits Advisors to understand and support the delivery of
welfare benefits advice.
• Arranging appointments and liaise with clients to gather important information for benefit checks.
• Conducting benefit checks to ensure that clients are receiving their entitled benefits.
• Supporting clients in applying for benefits and provide ongoing assistance as needed.
• Contributing to the efficient and effective delivery of welfare benefits services.

Educated to SCQF level 5, which includes National 5 or SVQ or Standard Grades at Credit level or
equivalent or National Certificate in Advice and Guidance, Customer Care, Administration or
equivalent area
Strong organisational and communication skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
A genuine desire to make positive impact and help others
Basic understanding of welfare benefits and a willingness to learn and develop in this area
