ESTATE TECHNICIAN Reports to: Estates Team Leader Duties and responsibilities Job Purpose: To keep estates well maintained by carrying out ground maintenance, de-weeding, close cleaning and Ad Hoc duties in accordance with agreed specified contracts. Skill levels required for post All tasks to be carried out in line with estate specification, the tasks below are provided as an indicative list of the types of tasks asked of this role, it is not an exhaustive list. • Applying herbicides and pesticides controlling weeds and moss. • Remove and dispose of litter and bulky items (fly tipping) • Maintain lawns, machinery and tools • Maintain communal pathways, shrubs, grounds and car parks • Needle sweeping and removal External areas • Dispose of bulky items (fly tipping). • Visually inspect child play areas and report defects to line manager • Sweeping of car parks, paths. Scope: Company vehicle (where appropriate) for business use only - Maintain vehicle, trailer and equipment in line with Group policies. A full, valid driving licence would be desirable but not essential as a company vehicle will be provided for business use only. Regular driving & possibly drive other squads. Working outdoors in all weathers completing physically demanding work. Use of hazardous substances e.g. chemicals Use equipment and materials in a safe manner and in accordance with risk assessment policies and procedures. Employee: The successful candidate will provide day to day support in the delivery of estate service contracts, this will require operating specialised machinery for soft and hard landscapes, some use of chemicals and other hazardous substances. They will be required to operate within the appropriate organisational policies and procedures in the provision of their services which may include; lawn maintenance, i.e. grass cutting, hedge trimming, shrub pruning, planting, and also application of approved herbicides and pesticides if certified and other similar grounds maintenance duties. Other duties include cleaning of refuse stores and removal of dumped items. This is not an exhaustive list and other duties requiring similar skill levels will be required. They will be responsible for their own safety and that of other people, co-operate with the organisation in matters relating to health and safety and not interfere with or misuse anything provided for their health and safety. They will be required to operate within the appropriate health and safety regulations ensuring the working environment, property and occupants are safe and secure at all times. They will also be responsible for reporting anything that may pose a risk to the health and safety of themselves and others. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Provide accurate and timely information on progress and advice that is easily understood by the customer and ensure accurate daily work records are completed. Respond positively to complaints to meet customer expectations. Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and continue to be suitable for required tasks whilst ensuring stock levels are maintained. Use equipment and materials in a safe manner and in accordance with risk assessment and method statements and the manufacturer’s guidance. Delivers a helpful and friendly service to customers. Provides useful information and monitors customer satisfaction.

No experience is necessary but being able to work as part of a team is desirable
