You will assist Greens Staff with course set up and maintain the course to a high standard while working towards NVQ Level 2 qualification.
The role and responsibilities will grow as the candidate improves on their skills. Tasks will initially include helping with the course set up, raking bunkers, moving tee markers, strimming and divoting. Eventually progressing onto tasks involving mowing equipment.
Must be reliable, hardworking and have the desire and enthusiasm to learn new skills. Excellent attention to detail is a key attribute. Good communication skills when working within your team on and around the course.
A knowledge of golf course activity and etiquette is desirable but not essential.

Sandyhills Golf Club is situated in the east end of Glasgow near Mount Vernon. Established in 1905, our course is a beautiful, challenging 18 hole parkland setting that offers a fair test to golfers of all abilities.
We also have a large clubhouse facility which has large lounge areas allowing members and visitors the opportunity to sit and enjoy a spectacular view of the course and beyond.
Our vacancy for Apprentice Greenkeeper is an exciting opportunity to learn all aspects of agronomy, course maintenance and course presentation. You would be joining a team of 5 highly skilled Greenkeepers providing a great support whilst you work towards your NVQ Level 2 qualification. You will be enrolled at College for additional training and education.
We will provide you with a uniform and PPE.
English and Arithmetic. Basic computer skills with experience of MS Word and Excel preferable.
A knowledge of golf course activity and etiquette is desirable but not essential.
