To undertake your role within FARE Scotland (FARE), providing comprehensive employability opportunities to young people and communities across Glasgow.
To support and promote the facilitation and development of personal development/employability programmes primarily within the FARE employability team but also promoting current and future community education opportunities as part of the wider FARE team.
Work in accordance with FARE’s policies and procedures, providing activities that are safe, fun and challenging for young people to encourage them to reach their full potential.
To work in accordance with the values and principles of youth work and maintain a professional approach in line with the standards required of a competent youth work practitioner.
Working with the FARE Scotland employability team you will support the delivery of employability activities to young people and the wider community in a variety of locations – including secondary schools - across Glasgow and other local authority areas.
You will also support the undertaking of online, blended learning and face-to-face employability, youth and community work with identified individuals or groups within a range of community settings.
You wll engage with young people and support the identification of potential learning and development opportunities within the work being undertaken.
You will contribute to the monitoring, evaluating and reviewing of employability work and other community provision being provided by FARE. Support the collation of data that allows FARE to analyse and profile the learning and development needs of communities.
You will support the promotion of FARE’s activities and provision through community practice, promotional activities and by any other means necessary.
You will work primarily with FARE’s Employability Team but also working closely with Health & Wellbeing, Community Support & Development Coordinator’s to develop, promote and organise all services and progress existing community provision where appropriate, in line with FARE’s development plans.
You will promote the objectives of FARE as stated in its constitution.
You will assist in activities which will promote the personal, social, educational and material welfare of local people
You will help maintain all records in accordance with guidelines.
You will comply with all relevant legislation and FARE policies.
You will participate in fund raising activities.
You will attend training opportunities.
You may attend meetings, as requested.
The successful candidate will be required to complete a PVG (Protection Vulnerable Groups) application.
Undertake any other duties as specified by the FARE Senior Management Team.

FARE Scotland is a voluntary organisation working within disadvantaged communities throughout Central Scotland. FARE strive to raise people's aspirations, encourage them to become more involved in their communities, create opportunities for personal development and equip them with the skills required to deal with the demands of 21st century life.
There are no minimum requirements for applicants however the successful candidate will be required to complete the following training:
SVQ Level 3 in Youth Work
Core Skills Level 5 in Information & Communication Technology (if required)
Core Skills Level 5 in Numeracy (if required)
Emergency First Aid Work
Other training courses as and when required
Knowledge of what a community is and the challenges and barriers that young people face on a daily basis
Knowledge of local community projects and organisations
Experience of working within or attending provisions in a Community Based Organisation
All successful applicants are required to successfully complete a Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) application form for the role
