The successful applicants will assist the engineers in the management, development, design, planning, implementation of roads and traffic infrastructure improvement works in the city. Whilst working within the team you will learn about roads design, roads maintenance, new development construction methods, new sustainable drainage systems, flood prevention, developing Auto Cad drawings, creating Microsoft works spread sheets and programmes.
College day release one day per week.

SVQ L 3 Construction Contracting Operations: Site Technical Support
Your Modern Apprenticeship consists of a 4 year programme, attending a further education college where you will complete an NC/HNC Civil Engineering qualification and complete SVQ Level 3 MA. Successful completion of all training activities is required to attain Group Awards.
Driving: While a full licence is not essential in year one, it is desirable to obtain a licence during your training period.
Technical: You will need to be able to read and understand technical drawings and diagnose faults.
Good communication skills and manner when dealing with members of the public and fellow workers is required.

Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability is a council service, which is an amalgamation of Parks, Cleansing and Roads, Parking, Community Safety Glasgow and Direct and Regeneration Services which delivers a service to the citizens of Glasgow. It has responsibility for maintaining parks and open spaces, roads and lighting as well as ensuring a clean environment within the city. This also includes Transport, Fleet Maintenance and Planning/Building control.
Minimum of 2 Highers grade C
National 5 in English and Maths
National 4 in Physics
Core Skills at SCQF Level 5
Foundation Apprenticeship in Civil Engineering would be helpful.
School subjects such as Maths, English, Physics and ICT will assist candidate in workplace.
